Vultr , DO, linode, any clear favourites in terms of performance ?
Vultr it is.
there are benchmarks comparing them.. try Google. I remember that Linode uses faster CPU than DO.
aws
cross-hosting on DO, Linode, Google Cloud Platform and AWS. All depends on skills to set up high availability of services…
Example: DB and Images (CDN) on GCP, website and DNS on Linode, DO for microservices… AWS for emails
“it depends” 🙂
I fell in love with Vultr and never left… for its great plans and while it doesn’t offer as much as DO, it was just easier to use imo. They are currently offering an entire dedicated server for $120/month and while that may seem steep – I have me and my clients on a single server … there’s something about having the power of those resources that keeps everything fast.
For me…Linode > Vultr > DO
Michael Paul Bourne has done some pretty extensive real-world testing and Vultr generally comes out a bit aheaad of the other two. Think he’s working on a new pbulic test at the moment?
Vultr over Linode or DO.
Vultr has edged the others out in my benchmarks. Not overwhelmingly, but enough that it provides a better value.
ok, i love Vultr too for their speed. But speed is only a part of the big picture. DO offer a wide series of options to manage and grow your infrastructure (Firewalls, Load balancers, Floating IP, etc.)
Thanks all, just opening up a new server for a customer and google and amazon are out of their price range .
UpCloud have better performance than DO and VULTR.
I have done a test last week an the fastest of all – leading by a great number – was https://webdock.io/. Please note I sit in Europe
they are close in performance but i use vultr
