Forum › Forums › WordPress Hosting Forum › I just got screwed by SiteGround and they didn’t even buy me dinner first. That…
Just moved to NameHero for the same reason except I was one GoGeek which was going to be $420 per year.
I’m now on NAmehero Business Cloud which gets me SG GoGeek specs for a SG growbig price

What resources do you get for that price?
This is the norm with most hosts sadly. Cheap intro price to hook you and high recurring cost.
The $239 cost is their listed cost for the growbig package. Has been for a while I believe. So your original price is an intro price or a discounted price.
I think its a shady practise, but each to their own.
Crikey, I’ve just checked out my renewal price (been with SG a few years). In 2017, I paid £129 for a GrowBig plan, last year £144, this year it’ll be £215 – that’s a 50% jump!
My renewal’s not till April so I may just take a look at the competition before then…
Thanks for the heads-up.
I moved from Siteground to NameHero and never looked back. Check them out.
Yeaup…it’s been going on for a while. Many have complained.
Looks clear to me!
Meh 68%…No biggie…How does a 300% increase sound? 😉
This space is INCREDIBLY competitive. As a business owner, I completely understand why they feel the need to do it. It’s not the only way to market. And it clearly does piss some people off. But they honestly aren’t hiding anything. Just read everything before you sign up to anything!
You can get managed vps with that price
I wouldn’t take that crap Lary, like people said, managed vps like cloudways are faster and may even be cheaper.
I just signed up with siteground this week :/ so next year my price is gonna sky rocket??
It’s really simple. Read what you buy before you buy it. If you don’t like a company’s pricing structure (or if it changes), move elsewhere.
