Any recommendations for UK based Managed WordPress Hosting?
My main issue is support, I am UK based and therefore am relying on out of hours support with my current provider, Flywheel, which hasn't worked well for us. I need managed hosting and as its purely for a WordPress website, Managed WordPress seems the right way to go. I like the speed advantages this will bring as well. Budget is less of an issue behind what I need above. Asking for UK recommendations is cool with me, as I'll go away and do some due diligence on those, but its great to get some suggestions rather than searching blind.April 7, 2019 at 5:35 am #830
John, please edit your request with some more detail, it will help others to help you. It may help to define what YOU mean by “managed” as that term seems to be used 20 different ways by 20 different providers.
To those wonderful helpful souls willing to offer advice, please see our rules on how to do so. Just throwing out company names isn’t enough. Thanks!
Hosting Recommendations – If asking for one:
Supply information about your site needs: size, traffic, location, etc. If known, let others know your budget. List other hosts, if any, you’ve already tried. Asking “Who is the best host” or similar shows no effort on the poster’s part and will result in ill-informed advice. Ask your question in such a way which encourages others to help you and allows them to actually do so. In short, be descriptive. Questions which ignore this rule will be deleted.
Hosting Recommendations – If giving one:
If you suggest a host, you must have a reason for suggesting that host. This cannot be personal opinion based on friendships, affiliate status, or other reason which does not help the person asking. Saying “[hostname here] is the best!” adds zero value to the conversation and does not help anybody. In short, employ facts. Comments which ignore this rule will be deleted.April 7, 2019 at 5:35 am #831
thecloudhost(dot)net They have UK servers and meet my requirements for Managed (malware scans and backups)
Edited with the reasons why: Great support available through ticketing system online 24/7. Them handling malware scans daily and incremental backups daily with 365 days of restores included gives me peace of mind too as it means no additional malware scanners or backup services to subscribe to.April 7, 2019 at 5:35 am #832
Fair enough, although the guys were helping already, thanks. WPX has 24/7 support with an average 35 second response time on live chat John: https://quality.livechatinc.com/4691811April 7, 2019 at 5:35 am #834
Do you need fully managed ( i.e. plugin / theme upgrades etc ) or just a WordPress specific host, UK based?April 7, 2019 at 5:35 am #835
Quick update. WPX look great, but I should have added from the start that I’m after dedicated IP. I like the look of Guru, even though live chat was a bit sketchy just now.
You guys on Guru, do you mind sharing an example of a site you have on there. I want to see what the load times/server response times look like. Live chat won’t share anything with me, and I’ve checked out one from the testimonials but wasn’t overly impressed.
